GPABX (DID
exchange)
DID is
a vast market opening up in India. GPAX operators and big builders/ estate
owners are growing at a fast pace. Coral has made a switch specifically
designed to cater to their specific requirements. Some of the salient
features of this switch used in a GPABX environment are:
Virtual CO exchange
It is
important that a customer of GPAX operator feels that he is a direct CO
exchange subscriber, hence it is necessary that a GPAX should simulate like
a CO exchange. The system offers the following functionality to simulate
like a CO exchange:
Billing Features
Multiple
layers of safeguards are built-into the Digital series to ensure accuracy
and reliability of billing, which is of prime importance for businesses,
like Hotels, PCOs, and DID operators. A GPAX operator provides basic
telephony services to its subscribers and hence revenue capture and
generation is critical to the success of his business. Coral has thus
evolved and incorporated various mechanisms to ensure accuracy of billing
without loss of any data.
-
Billing of calls made by
extensions is possible both on the basis of polarity reversal signal and
16 KHz metering for accuracy. Billing data for each call can be stored
as pulses or as time duration.
-
Exact billing on P&T
junctions based on 16 KHz.
-
16 KHz and Polarity
sensing simultaneously on each line.
-
Counter for 16 kHz pulses
for every extension & Trunk - System provides for an inbuilt Counter for
every extension and trunk line. This counter is final level of defence
if the billing data is somehow lost. This does not give details of calls
or calculation of cost of calls. KTS users or SLT extensions with CLI
can view this counter for any extension any time.
-
The 16 KHz. Counter of
calls is stored for previous month as well as current month.
-
Internal Call Billing
option (Malicious call trace).
-
Incoming call printout is
possible through serial port in SMDR mode. There would be no storage of
such calls.
-
Budgeting and fault
booking integrated with CBS.
-
Call Budgeting - It is
possible to provide a budget for every extension to minimize risk of
non-payment or to collect pre-payment. DX 2000 series monitors budget
on-line, hence even the calls in progress will get disconnected if the
budget exceeds. Budget can be set in terms of money value or total
number of pulses. There is a provision to reset the 16 KHz. metering on
the last day of every month.
-
If computer fails to
acknowledge the receipt of call billing information sent by GPAX, then
such unacknowledged calls are stored in the buffer of the system. Once
the buffer is partially full, then class of service of that extension is
changed to zero, consequently external dialing facility of that
extension is stopped. Once communication is established with the
computer auto restoration of out dialing facility takes place.
-
After 1000 numbers of
such unacknowledged calls are stored in the buffer, there can be a
special prompt displayed on operator KTS.
Unique Features
The
system offers some features, to operators, which can make their business
more profitable by offering some special features like:
-
Line Reversal on
extension for PAYPHONES within the GPAX.
-
Least Cost routing/
Alternate route selection, if alternate long distance connectivity is
available.
-
Dial tone Announcer,
like, "Happy Diwali" instead of dial tone. Similar Voice messages could
be provided for RBT or busy tone. Internal messages like "Bill not
paid", or, "This facility is not available on your telephone" can also
be provided.
-
Trunk-to-Trunk transfer &
extension transfer of incoming external call is possible.
-
Call forward possible on
P&T junctions as well.
-
Call Forward is possible
in three conditions - All calls / When phone is Busy / in the event of
No Reply.
