button. Coral CAP offers the operator a variety of user friendly features
making call handling extremely simple even in a high traffic environment. It
is a Windows based package allowing user a lot of flexibility for
customization of the screen as per the typical needs of the organization.
Some of the features, which make this package popular and user friendly are
as follows-
This screen is one of the
many customized screens possible on the CAPS package.

- Dial Pad: This is similar to a
digital key phone dial pad except that the user according to his or her
preferences can customize it. It has four fixed keys viz. Hold,
Transfer, Redial and Release other than the fixed dial pad . The remaining
24 keys are all soft programmable and can be defined as per organizational
need. All operations on the dial pad can be done with the click of a
mouse which makes operators job extremely simple.
- LCD Display: Similar to graphical
Key phone Corals CAP has 4 by 40 character display. This display not only
guides the operator through out the progress of the call but also creates
various soft keys as shown. Just a click of the mouse on any one of these
keys activates the feature displayed. As can be seen this is just not a
mere display but can activate most of the features required for call
handling.
- Public Hold or P.HOLD Window: This
gives the display of all calls, which are on HOLD and can be retrieved by
the operator by just clicking on them.
- Answer back : This window gives a list
of calls which were transferred by the operator but have come back to the
operator due to no answer.
- Trunk Call Queue : This gives the
operator the list of all calls which are ringing on the switch. The
operator can pick up the calls one by one on priority basis.
- Phone Book : Each operator can
display his or her individual customized phone book. The operator can
create this phone book from a common phone book available in the CAP
software. The numbers from this phone book can be dialed just by a click
of a button
- Messages: This is the most
amazing feature of Coral CAP package. It is a kind of a mini e-mail window
where the operator can leave a message, which can be displayed, on the
IRIS extension users PC and vice-versa. IRIS extension user can also
leave a message for the operator, which will be displayed, on the CAP
screen of the operator. This makes the operators job extremely simple
e.g. if one of the extension users in the organization is on leave a
message can be left by him for the operator and every time the operator
tries to transfer call to this user the leave messageEwill get flashed
on the operators screen. This eliminates the possibility of the operator
transferring the calls to people who are not on their seat.
- VIP Call in Queue: Just like a mobile
phone this window gives an indication to the operator about an incoming
VIP caller. The CAP software has the provision to define a VIP call.
Every time a call rings from this pre-defined VIP number it flashes on
this window. This helps the operator to prioritize VIP calls.
- Direct Station Selector: This is again
a customized window defined by the user and displays all internal numbers,
which can be dialed by the operator by just click of a mouse.
- Station Calls in Queue: This window
displays all internal calls, which are in queue facilitating the operator
to prioritize call picking.
CORAL CAP software permits each
operator to design his or her own screen so much so that the same PC can
display various screens depending on who has logged in as the operator. If
an organization has multiple operators each can have a different customized
window as per the need and the preference. All the windows can run
simultaneously on different PCs and as such there is no limitation of number
of CAP users in CORALs IRIS system
This soft console has tremendous versatility and facilitates its
user to handle all kinds of call traffic. It can display a variety of
information which is extremely useful especially when the incoming and / or
out going call traffic is very high.
